Church in Wales Review : In 2012, a small Review Group appointed by the Bench of Bishops published its report, with 50 recommendations to reform the structures and use of resources of the Church in Wales, in order to increase the effectiveness of the Church’s ministry and witness. Implementation has already started, despite there being no general consultation with Church in Wales congregations, and will transform the way in which the church is organised geographically, and how its ministry is conducted. If consultations do get underway, all church members need to be ready to respond.

Four members of our choir received their light blue and white RSCM ribbons from Archbishop Barry at a service in Advent 2011. All four are still members of the choir, and studying for the next stage of the RSCM awards scheme "Voice for Life". With Archbishop Barry are Mrs Eurlys Phipps (who also features very prominently in our cookbook), Kira on the left, Erin on the right, and Cadence (Cadi) at the front.

The 2012 Christmas Crib. As always, Christmas in Glyncorrwg was very special, and for the first time we enjoyed a combined Carol Service with Communion, taken by one of our regular visiting clergy during this interregnum, Revd Edwin Phillips, pictured right.

Visitors to Glyncorrwg often get a surprise as the first hymn begins to the accompaniment of a euphonium! Viv Williams, a member of the Blaengwynfi Silver Band as well as of the church choir, started playing for services about two years ago, in the absence of a regular organ accompaniment. He plays for Sunday services, including accompanying the psalm. Viv has now taken on choir training, and Tom Morgan has become our organist.
